Below are a few of our grief events that are held each year. We also invite you to visit our Events page to view our upcoming, future events or to learn more about the past events that we’ve held throughout the years.
Bereaved Mothers’ Day Luncheon or Brunch
This casual bereaved mothers’ luncheon is sponsored by the Josh Rojas Foundation on the first Sunday in May, which is known as International Bereaved Mother’s Day. You are welcome to mingle, share, ask questions or simply spend time with other mothers who know exactly how you are feeling. Somehow just spending time with someone who truly understands, brings comfort, and acknowledges our continuing struggle to survive this loss. Bereaved mothers are asked to RSVP by a chosen date prior to the event.
Fall Get-Together for Bereaved Mothers, Fathers, Their Significant Other or Friend
This casual Fall get-together is an informal gathering scheduled for a Sunday fall afternoon, from Noon-5 pm. You are welcome to mingle and share with other grieving parents who truly understand. Whether you wish to share, ask questions, or simply share a meal with others who know exactly how you are feeling, you are welcome. Somehow just spending time with someone who truly understands, brings comfort, and acknowledges our continuing struggle to survive this loss.
Ceremony of Remembrance for our Children, Grandchildren, Siblings & Friends
This soothing, non-denominational and spiritual observance has been held the second Sunday in December for the past several years in Pittsford, NY. (This year it will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024). It is held in conjunction with the Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting©. This observance had been solely sponsored by the Jeff Milano-Johnson Memorial Fund, with our assistance, for several years. However, in 2022, our foundation took over the sponsoring of this event and the ceremony was moved to the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Irondequoit, NY. Families and friends who have experienced the death of a child, young adult, sibling, or grandchild are welcome. We find such solace attending, participating in, and sponsoring this observance which is filled with poetry readings, candle lighting, soothing harp music and more. Please visit our Future Events page on this site for specific details for this year's observance.
