Many years ago, we held a fundraiser entitled, “The Josh Bouts.” For three years, in March, 2007 – 2009, our foundation held a few boxing matches at Aquinas Institute between area police officers, fire fighters, etc. My husband, Pat Rojas (Josh's dad, MCSO) participated in two of the events and boxed in memory of Joshua. It began as a light-hearted event between friends. All proceeds went to our foundation. Aquinas generously allowed us to use their gym and the boxing ring that was set up for their own Mission Bouts. It was very successful and a lot of fun, and because the event became very competitive, we thought it was best to let another adult organization utilize the concept after the three years.
