Dodge for Josh was a family-friendly, fun event that we started in 2012. This was the year Josh would have graduated high school and we wanted to do something fun in his memory so his classmates could honor him in their senior year. We expected maybe 5 teams of students playing in his memory. However, it was hugely successful, and we had more 65 teams that first year. By March 2020, just prior to Covid lockdown, we had more than 100 dodge ball teams ranging in ages from 7-54 years old, and more than 1,000 people attended the tournament at Irondequoit High School.
Though it did become competitive, the purpose of this tournament was to honor the memory of Josh, bring our community together, and raise money to assist bereaved families and children’s organizations in the Rochester, NY area. We have always been in awe of this amazing community and its wonderful support. We thank you for your unwavering support of our foundation, and for remembering and honoring the wonderful children and young adults who have suddenly passed on too soon, and for doing all of this with such honorable sportsmanship and friendship! You humble us with your generosity. Thank you so very much for yet again embracing the memory of our little man. We are blessed!
